Tango Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 Hi, Since the 1.0.1 update, I'm finding that anywhere up to 15 minutes after starting to fly, the graphics start by blacking out once for maybe 0.25 sec, then 30 seconds later, again, then maybe 15 seconds later, followed by a *GRAPHICAL* freeze in the display (and keyboard) for about 1 minute, then the graphics suddenly start updating again, and all is well. During the pause the sound is OK, and the sim itself still keeps running including position updates etc.. so that when the graphics return to normal I've flown as if I would have anyway, etc.. If the engines are in the process of starting when the freeze occurs, they are running at low idle when the display returns. Note that during the actual freeze, the graphics are on the screen but they're just not doing anything. Does anyone see the same behavior? It only occurs with 1.0.1; 1.0.0 is fine. Best regards, Tango.
Tango Posted August 17, 2009 Author Posted August 17, 2009 Hi, The problem was dust in the graphics card, causing it to overheat! It died on me completely last night. I blew it out, and now it is fine! Best regards, Tango.
Panzertard Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 ^^ midgets in the machinery - it's the result of flying with us last night :D Glad to hear you got it sorted :) The mind is like a parachute. It only works when it's open | The important thing is not to stop questioning
=SCoRPioN= Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 Vacuum the insides of your computer. Do not use a dusk blower, use a vacuum with a tube. Also, dust conducts electricity. Do not let the fans spin as you vacuum, because they will generate electricity and can fry your board. Disconnect them if you gona let them spin.
