Bob117 Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 Anyone know how to find the fuel level of the optional external fuel tanks you can carry on your wing? Obviously once you use them up you want to jettison them cause their dead weight but if they got gas in them you wanna keep them on u.
HausDiesel Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 good question i would like to know the same...
Panzertard Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 Uhm, not tested it but - can't you just keep the ext. fuel pumps on - and fly until the fuel-gauge(s) starts to move down from "7" (which indicates 2x700kg = 1400kg) - because then you are starting to use the internal tanks? The mind is like a parachute. It only works when it's open | The important thing is not to stop questioning
AlphaOneSix Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 (edited) There is no indication as to how much fuel is in the external tanks. There are four lights that indicate that fuel is being pumped out of the external tanks: LH INNER TANK PUMP, LH OUTER TANK PUMP, RH INNER TANK PUMP, and RH OUTER TANK PUMP. When those lights extinguish, it means those tanks are empty (assuming the pump switches are in the ON position). It should be noted that external tanks are not normally jettisoned when empty, even in combat. They are extremely light when they are empty. Edited August 18, 2009 by AlphaOneSix
Bob117 Posted August 18, 2009 Author Posted August 18, 2009 Fuel Lights Are you talking about those 4 yellow lights that represent the external fuel tanks? Also are you telling me that unless I activate the booster pumps for the external fuel tanks im not using any fuel outta them?

They are the four lights in the bottom right corner of the right caution panel. Second, if those green lights are not on, you are not pumping fuel out of the external tanks.
