Mission 13

Hi,

Firstly I'm very much enjoying the challenge but I think  there maybe an issue with mission 13. The issue:-

• On approach to the refuelling tanker both baskets are already deployed.
• On the first refuel, the mission advice suggests using the starboard basket. I approach the starboard basket following the pre-contact message. I cannot connect, I get the breakaway advice - which I ignore - but I still cannot connect. It looks to me that I should have a successful connection.
• My wingman makes no attempt to refuel on the left basket.
• I move across to the left basket and successfully refuel. I disconnect but again my wingman makes no move to refuel.
• Ultimately the game times out with a mission fail.

 

Your thoughts?

Glad your enjoying the campaign.

There isn't an issue with the mission, Due to an intermittent bug I had to change the refuel so that you refuelled on the right and your wing will just follow you. This is because for some pilots when given the refuel command the wing would dive away and break the mission. Until I am sure this is fixed this is the best option.  Once you have refuelled on the left side all you need to do is keep move away from the tanker and the mission will continue.

This is explained at the beginning of the in the game  brief in capitals

"DUE TO CURRENT REFUEL BUG YOUR WING WILL NOT PLUG BUT STAY IN FORMATION. YOU NOW MUST PLUG ON LEFT BASKET UNTIL BUG FIXED."  

and in the radio text which you received when close to the tanker. 

"TWO, LEAD
YOU TAKE PORT SIDE FOR PLUG AS USUAL.

NOTE: DUE TO RECENT DCS REFUEL BUG  YOU MUST REFUEL PORT SIDE AND YOUR WING WILL REMAIN IN FORMATION. MOVE AWAY FROM TANKER WHEN COMPLETE."

Just for absolute clarity once I've refuelled from the port basket should my wingman then refuel? Because he didn't when I got to this point earlier today.

As briefed he will remain in formation, he will not refuel. He also will not run out of fuel. That is the problem, when commanding him to refuel thats when intermittently he goes AWOL.
