RWR not seeing EWR on multiplayer(?)

I noticed on the Contention Cold War Germany server that an enemy EWR had been placed near where I was flying (an orange circle on the F10 map).  My RWR didn't show anything, and I even flew near where the EWR site was marked on the F10 map to check it out - nothing.  I did have the Search Radar button selected on my RWR and assumed it would show the EWR.   My RWR did show other search radars around airfields indicated with an "S".

I'd assume a radiating, active EWR should show up on an RWR.

Do I have my switchology set up wrong, or is that a setting on multiplayer?

You're just saying it was marked on the map. Do you know if it was actually setup and radiating? Possibly destroyed?

Contention from what I remember lets players place these things. Perhaps the player chose a bad spot and the EWR is terran masking?

Do you know what specific unit it was?

Which unit was it exactly? Some are also shown as U not S, then u need to hit the Unknown button.

Its certainly possible the EWR had been knocked out, and I will try the 'U' Unknown button - Thanks!

Depending on the radar it might have been below the RWR's minimum frequency for detecting it. 2 GHz is the lowest frequency it will detect IIRC, most of the EWR are well below that.
