I remember that, before, F-18 could not lock me above 28Nm when type 2 jamming, and now they were not even disturbed at 80Nm ! Has the SPJ been nerfed ? 1
antiload Posted September 17 Posted September 17 It may be broken, there seems to be a few long standing issues with the JF17, like the WMD, and some weapons (ED's territory).

Isn't it the HOJ that's locked on you? well, I asked question to my friends at this moment, and his answers sounds like he can't see ECM on his radar, but I'll conduct more trials with IA and more experienced F-18 pilots to confirm.
xavierbenoit83 Posted September 27 Author Posted September 27 New test, it seems that the friend manage to lock with HOJ, not in normal mode. After the update, jammer work so well he didn,t manage to fire a good AIM-120 over 10Nm. We try then F-16...and here, our jammer is absolutly useless : from 60NM at least, he manage to have a good monitoring (TWS), and launch a good missile, without any problem.

TWS is a so called "soft lock" since it doesnt focus all its radar energy on a single target like in STT mode. It basically just is search mode and follows the locked target without focus. The SPJ is only usefull against STT "hard locks". 1 My skins

I have to disagree, SPJ is usefull against other tracking mode : if you read my last post, it jammed perfectly F-18 TWS radar...but it seems it is useless against F-16...

I didn't precise I used type 2 cause I used it for my first test, si I supposed it was obvious, my bad . Yeah, should have been the same, but my friend didn't even noticed I was jamming. I haven't touch DCS for 2 weeks, and won't for 2 more weeks, then I'll reconduct more trials (against IA and friends), to confirm. 1
