Firstdate Posted October 4 Posted October 4 (edited) Hello to all ! I'm trying to understand how the SPO-15 works with the ED documentation and test it in game to be sure to well understand. But I can't explain some in game behaviour compared with what's written in the manual, let's take an exemple : First situation : ME : Mig-29A with "Stock WP" SPO-15 setting Threats: AI F-14B with radar homing continuously activated Symbology shown : At 195km from the target : "X" blinking -> It don't know if it's a Hawk radar OR an HPRF radar situated far away (mis-identified as type Х at low power levels), is that affirmation correct ? AT 60km from the target : "X" still blinking and "F" lights up steadily -> Identified as a 4th gen fighter. Second situation : ME : Mig-29A with "Automatic" SPO-15 setting Threats : AI F-14B with radar homing continuously activated Symbology shown : At 195km from the threat : "X" blinking -> Same reason than the first situation ? At 60km : "П" lights up steadily and the "X" continu to blink -> Why ? At 20km when I get the track warning, the "C" appear steadily -> Why ? For the same aircraft, already registered in the "Stock" data base, the behaviours are different between "Stock" and "Automatic" SPO configuration... The automatic configuration isn't supposed to only add more datas from the stock version ? Why change the SPO behaviours for the same threat ? Edited October 4 by Firstdate 1 1
Blackhawk441 Posted October 6 Posted October 6 In the manual and in Wags' video it says that the "Automatic" SPO-15 mission editor setting will automatically pull information from the mission for the SPO-15 threat database. I have two questions related to this: 1. When does "Automatic" pull information from the mission? If units are spawned by script (so are not there immediately when the mission begins), would "Automatic" pick units up that exist when the player spawns in a dynamic slot? Or will "Automatic" only detect units that are present when the mission begins? 2. Should "Automatic" provide any filtering of friendly radars? Does the SPO-15 ever filter friendly radars? Thank you.
AeriaGloria Posted October 6 Posted October 6 The SPO-15 doesn’t necessarily filter, it will shown “un-known” radars just without category, but they will have lowest priority compared to radars which are known. 1 Black Shark Den Squadron Member: We are open to new recruits, click here to check us out or apply to join! https://blacksharkden.com

That said, given how new this implementation the best is to wait for ED for an answer since they know the best how it is implemented. Condition: green
Firstdate Posted Thursday at 04:10 PM Author Posted Thursday at 04:10 PM (edited) No, but if you want to test it, you just have to place your aircraft and a F14B hot on you with radar on in the mission editor, nothing else. Then realize 2 tests, one with "Stock WP" SPO database and an other one with "Automatic" database. I agree with you, ED team is the best to give an answer... Edited Thursday at 04:12 PM by Firstdate
