Ramses823 Posted October 8 Posted October 8 Is it just me, or do AIM-120s seem to be doing a lot less damage than usual lately? I was flying a mission recently where both Blue and Red forces were AI-controlled. Blue had the numbers advantage, so I expected the Red side to get wiped out pretty quickly at medium range once the AMRAAMs started flying. But instead, the whole fight devolved into a massive dogfight. When I checked Tacview afterward, I saw multiple AIM-120s hitting their targets — solid impacts — yet the enemy aircraft just kept flying as if nothing happened. Has anyone else noticed this? Are AMRAAMs underperforming right now, or could this be an AI damage model issue?
Solution Ramses823 Posted October 9 Author Solution Posted October 9 Turns out the problem was me — I accidentally set the AI to Immortal. Guess that explains a lot.

MiG21bisFishbedL Posted October 9 Posted October 9 I'm laughing, but I guarantee you I'll do the same dunderhead thing at some point. 2 Reformers hate him! This one weird trick found by a bush pilot will make gunfighter obsessed old farts angry at your multi-role carrier deck line up!
Maverick Su-35S Posted Thursday at 05:50 AM Posted Thursday at 05:50 AM Lol..., I thought that there's something related to the missile's flight performances or something, but for him, underperforming meant about the explosive damage. Don't confuse performances with explosive power. Nonetheless on an immortal AI=). Of course, you later found out that small mistake! When you can't prove something with words, let the math do the talking. I have an insatiable passion for helping simulated aircraft fly realistically. Don't underestimate my knowledge before understanding what I talk about! Sincerely, your flight model reviewer/advisor.
