Riclourenco Posted Friday at 09:48 PM Posted Friday at 09:48 PM Hello, I have a question about DCS MT. I have an Intel Core i5 9400F Hexa Core 2.9 GHZ, motherboard ASUS Prime H310M-R R2.0 , RAM 32 GB DDR4 , graphics card ASUS NVidea GeForce GTX 1650 4GB GDDR5 , with a 1 TB dedicated SSD, and using Win 11. Using Medium-low graphics settings, without VR, and in single player, will I have advantages in using DCS MT? I'd also like to know how to create a shortcut to DCS MT just like the original, in case I accidentally delete it. I've already try to created a DCS.exe shortcut from the bin-mt folder, but it doesn't look the same as the original (I did a fresh install of DCS two days ago, as well as Win 11). It looks like the DCS ST shortcut, as you can see in the images below. I'm not sure if this is relevant. Thank you
SharpeXB Posted Friday at 10:11 PM Posted Friday at 10:11 PM Multi-threading is the only version now. Those two .exe files are actually identical and the old mt one will be removed at some point. It’s actually recommended to change your shortcut to the other one. 1 i9-14900KS | ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO | 64GB DDR5 5600MHz | iCUE H150i Liquid CPU Cooler | ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 4090 OC | Windows 11 Home | 2TB Samsung 980 PRO NVMe | Corsair RM1000x | LG 48GQ900-B 4K OLED Monitor | CH Fighterstick | Ch Pro Throttle | T.Flight Rudder Pedals | TrackIR 5
Riclourenco Posted Friday at 10:29 PM Author Posted Friday at 10:29 PM The image with the shortcut named "DCS-Atalho" was what I created from bin-mt as an example. The other shortcut, "DCS World MT," is one of the originals. The two originals I have are DCS World and DCS Word MT in the image I just sent. So, of these two, are you saying I should delete DCS World MT, that is, the orange shortcut? So, my question about the hardware no longer makes sense either :). I thought both versions still existed...
scommander2 Posted Friday at 11:03 PM Posted Friday at 11:03 PM (edited) Please check the following thread about MT (ST was gone for a while back): In general, we just need to have one shortcut of dcs.exe from bin and leave bin-mt alone. According to Intel web for 9400F, it is a 6 core CPU, and it is capable of running multi-thread program. Please do check dcs.log for the section how DCS distributes tasks to each core in the section for the reder/common cores.
