This is my 2nd attempt with the AH-64D - the first attempt was in my first month into DCS and consisted mainly of immediate crashing and frustration. I am playing in PCVR using just the Meta Quest controllers (also for rudder control), grabbing the cyclic and the collective in virtual space, so it is extra challenging. This time, a few months later with some experience with the F/A-18, the Mustang, and the Spitfire, I managed to get the hang of flying the Apache, and it is becoming incredibly fun trying to push the boundary of flying it agilely, close to the ground. It feels like learning to control an exoskeleton.
