56RAF_coventry Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 hello all, I have downloaded the latest patch for Blackshark but when i come to try and install it, i get a message saying Blackshark not found so i can not install the patch. So i am going to try uninstall the game then install again they try install the the patch see if it works then. But i have a new problem i can not uninstall because my uninstall.exe is missing when i double click on it i get the message "missing shortcut windows is searching for uninstall.exe" I then see if i can see it in C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\Ka-50 but its not there. I then decide to go to control panel and i can not uninstall it from there because DCS:BlackShark is not the list even though i have it installed but i have just deactivated it (this could be linked too the blackshark not found on patch installation). So how do i uninstall it with no uninstall.exe?
EtherealN Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 Which operating system do you use? On my Vista, I would do the following: Start Control Panel Programs Uninstall a program Select DCS Black Shark click "uninstall" Procedure for W7 and XP should be similar. Panzertard Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 Install on top of the same installation - and you should get all files back into place, as well as the "Add Remove Program: DCS" in the Control Panel. And you wont loose any activations unless you've changed the hardware - it will *Ask* you to activate, but it should use the same old activasion. So just reinstall over the old folders. :) The mind is like a parachute. It only works when it's open | The important thing is not to stop questioning

Peyoteros Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 can't you find it through Start menu, Start/Programs/EagleDynamics (C1 if you have russian version) /Ka-50/uninstall...? "Eagle Dynamics" - simulating human madness since 1991 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] ۞ ۞
56RAF_coventry Posted August 31, 2009 Author Posted August 31, 2009 It has Uninstall there but when i click it, i get message saying "missing shortcut windows is searching for uninstall.exe"
EtherealN Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 Coventry, are you using Vista standard or "classic" mode for Control Panel display? My route there assumes the standard. However, if it really doesn't show in your list of installed programs I would say that it's safe to install over it, just like Panzer suggested. 56RAF_coventry Posted August 31, 2009 Author Posted August 31, 2009 I right clicked on setup on the disc clicked run with admin rights nothing happened except a small blue circle( think it means loading) appeared then after about 5mins it went away and nothing happened.
EtherealN Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 See the post linked by Panzertard. Copy the files mentioned to your hard drive, then run them locally, to see if there might be something with how your computer handles loading from discs that is causing issues.
