YADRO radio tuning lamp?

The TUNE lamp on the YADRO radio illuminates when you turn the dials; does anyone know what the function of this is?

It is automatically tuning the radio to the frequency you are selecting. On R-828 or other older russian radios for example you select the channel and then have to press tune button to have the radio tuned to the frequency, Jadro-1A does that automatically and indicates it.

Thanks, though I'd expect the opposite - the lamp to dim when turning the dials, and solid when set.
