vrv Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 I want to fly LOMAC with some mods but I also want to retain the un-modded version. Like I want to be able to fly Crimean Air Wars or VNAO while also having the regular version for flying online. Can I just copy and paste the LOMAC folder to another one and install the mods to that specific folder? or will it effect both copies? Vekkinho Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 (edited) Do the following: 1) Install LOFC and patch it to 1.12a or b! 2) Make a copy of Lock On folder so you'd have a "Copy of Lock On" folder on your HDD 3) Install all the mods you want to a Lock On folder 4) If you mess up modding you'll always be able to copy default files from "copy of Lock On". 5) To use unmodded game simply rename Lock On to any other name you can think of and rename "Copy of Lock on" to Lock On. 6) If you use Modman it will automatically detect Lock On folder which means mods you wish to use will install to a "Lock On" folder only and not a "copy of Lock On"! So it won't affect both copies but only the one named Lock On! Hope this helps! I have two folders named Lock On MP and Lock On SP (you probably understand what SP and MP stand for, don't you?!) so whan I wish to fly multi player I rename Lock On MP to a Lock On and do the same with Lock On SP for some vs AI flying!
