2IAEFulcrumbg Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 ........ a company called Level D (http://www.leveldsim.com) has released a 767 which seems to be the best there is. I was ready to buy it when I found I had only 3 activations, hardware change limitations, etc. Like I said I bought other add ons for MSFS but none use this kind of system. So far??? Companies making this addons for MSFS are small and come and go. So I get this add on and 6 month from now wont be able to used because they decided to do something else of their lives. Needless to say I did not buy it. It is one of the most beautiful add-ons I have bouth for MSFS, but I didn't know there are activations limitations and so on ! Damn, so stupid I am !

Surely ED know how they will proceed with reactivation requests from customers that have used all of theirs up…. don’t they? And why cant people uninstall and reinstall in anyway they like as long as they haven’t changed any hardware .. what’s that about. As for the copy protection well when a game starts to infringe on any future plans I may have for my PC then I think that’s just plain wrong. Its not about the money or how long I expect to play a game but if you support this type of activation then it’s just going to get worse. Can you imagine having three or four games/sims installed on your PC with this type of copy protection .. what a nightmare that would be. Personally I don’t want to have to worry about how I treat my system because I might loose an SF activation…. I mean its just a game. Flightsims are already not the most popular past time for gamers and I think if you really want to make it even more unpopular then this is surely the way to do it. That said I am still willing to purchase FC and support ED even though I don’t agree with copy protection they have chosen but I would really like some answers before I do so. Cozmo. Numerous attempts of automatic activation may cause the decreasing of number of activations, which is set up as 5 in the beginning. Every Serial Number have only 5 (five) activations. Every hardware changing, MS Windows © reinstalling, Lock On reinstalling may cause the necessity of new activation of Star Force protection system. We strongly recommend you to make a backup for “Lock On v.1.1: Flaming Cliffs” folder after installation and successful activation. You may use this backup in case when “Lock On v.1.1: Flaming Cliffs” was critically damaged (for example by third-party utilities). Every damage of “Lock On v.1.1: Flaming Cliffs” files may cause the necessity of Lock On reinstallation and new activation of Star Force protection system. aceflier Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 My concern is that the Devs can answere questions on HOJ and the f15 rpm gauges but cant take 2 seconds to come on this thread and give us some feedback. After all this thread and threads like this one are taking more hits than any thread on this forum. Could it be that the answere is going to effect sales?
