Ran across an odd problem the other day and havnt found a reason for it. thought you guys might know what was going on.

had pull to a stop and enganged "auto hover" then turned on "turn to target" the helicopter started this slow yaw to the right that I had to keep fighting. tried couple of times to trim it out but it just kept on wanting to yaw right. checked the rudder and it was zeroed out so that wasnt it.

after awhile of fighting it I just let it go to see if it was going to take me to a heading and it didnt just slow turn around in a circle and kept on going. tried turning alt hold auto hover and turn to target off and that stopped it. but when I turned them back on. it started wanted to do the circle again?

anyone know whats going on with that?

Wind? You may not be able to hover in windy conditions.

Also - you didnt engage the hovermode at speeds > 10kp/h? If you did so, that also may be a contributing factor.

was at a full stop before I engaged auto hover and I would think if it was a wind issue the helicopter would turn to one direction not just spin around in a circle. or would it?

ah, going in circles - I didnt get that far into your OP before I replied ;) Sorry.

What Smil said - and maybe Trim-method (in options) may be a contributing factor? New trim methods will allow you chopper to maintain a specific attitude and stick to it. The old "trim" method doesn't work in the same manner.

The difference may affect Hover perhaps. Maybe switch between the two methods and see if it makes a difference in hover?

Yes had a target selected though when it would want to spin around it would loose the target.

its not a regular problem just happend that one time. just trying to see what the issue was. had me stumped.

I always have this problem when I put auto hover on when I'm near a hill. I just put it down to the wind draft.

Well, zeroed isn't always the way to go. :D

When my chopper is tuning right, i press the trimm button, apply left rudder until the tuning stopps and then release the trim button.

Don't look at the trim indicator, just trimm the chopper so flies the way you want it to. :joystick:
