dgamble Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 I had BS working fine with my Saitek X52 Pro - my needs are simple. I want to push the throttle forward for up collective, pull it back for down. I'm having a terrible time getting what should be such a simple set-up to work with the 940. I've tried in-game settings, and I've tried the Logitech 5.08 software. No matter what I do, the throttle moves the cyclic. The Logitech profiler was easy enough to figure out, but it won't launch the game. The BS icon flashes on the bottom bar, then immediately dies. With the understanding that I just want to use the throttle for the collective, the stick for the cyclic, and the rudder pedals for the rudder, what's the easiest way to get this thing set up?
Lava Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 dgamble, I have to say that the initial setup with the G940 was rather painful. First, don't launch the game through the Logi software. It's best to go through and clear EVERY single assignment in the "Axis Assignment", in game. Also clear all the in-game button assignments by "Clearing Category" in each G940 column. You should see 5 separate columns under Axis Assignment, Action, Keyboard, Logi G940 Joystick, Throttle, Pedals. Make sure they're all clear and then assign the two cyclic axis to the joystick, the rudder to the pedals (careful NOT to press the toe breaks while doing this!), and then -separate- your throttles and move the rightmost one to set collective. Don't bother setting the other to anything for now, and after you're done with the axis config you can rejoin the throttles.
dgamble Posted September 29, 2009 Author Posted September 29, 2009 Thanks, that almost worked. The throttles no longer move the cyclic, but I still can't get collective to respond to anything but the R1 wheel on the throttle. This is very strange.
Lava Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 Does throttle R1 still move the collective even when nothing is assigned to the collective in-game?
dgamble Posted September 30, 2009 Author Posted September 30, 2009 Yes, even with nothing assigned to the collective the R1 still controls it. I've made sure that the Logitech profiler isn't running and overriding the games settings too. It's a shame, really. I thought the G940 would be so much better than the Saitek.
dgamble Posted September 30, 2009 Author Posted September 30, 2009 I found the problem and it was truly a N00B thing. I didn't see that there are two settings: Ka Game and Ka Real. I was setting the controls in the wrong one.
