I'm on the second chapter of the Georgian Oil War and I seem to be stuck in a repeating loop. I am tasked to do two missions and these alternate between defending a forward line of friendly troops, that are threatened by a breakthrough of enemy tanks and air defence units, and a recon mission where I have to fly up the coast, go to TP3 and TP4 and knock out 'high value targets of opportunity'.

I am puzzled as to what is going on here? I have, as far as I can tell, just completed the first of these by knocking out the breakthrough tanks (If I hit the @ key I have the 100% mission success indicated). I order my wingman back to the FARP, we both land - but nothing seems to change. I appear to be not making progress. Apart from maybe the enemy line on the map is being pushed back. Is this what should happen?

Thanks, any advice appreciated.

Edit: OK, I have now discovered that I am making progress and I'm sure that the overall campaign is moving forward. I presume you could go in the other direction? By this I mean If you loose too many of the set piece battles you could loose the war?

It's not only your success in individual missions that matter, afaik, but your campaign success overall, which should be displayed on the campaign screen.

I'm sure your right. It's a bit lacking in immersion though. It seems more like a lot of set piece battles rather than a campaign.

Thanks for your comment.
