4c Hajduk Veljko Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 Playing on Hyperlobby few days ago, I noticed that my R-77 barely missed the target. Separation between the target and the missile was 31 foot, less then 10 meters. I wonder what is the proximity fuse range for R-77 in Flaming Cliffs? 104th_Crunch Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 I don't think there are any proximity fuses modelled in Lock On. What you see I think is more the multiplayer code being a little bit out of sync between players. I have been killed by missiles that are 500M away before.
GGTharos Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 They are, but they are quite short (on the order of 4-8 meters, counted from your virtual cranium, I believe). The question is, what is the real life fuze of the 77? It's likely close to or less than 10m - but there's no real way to reconcile this properly in LO since in theory the 77 should be getting 'close enough' a respectable percentage of the time. 4c Hajduk Veljko Posted October 23, 2009 Author Posted October 23, 2009 The question is, what is the real life fuze of the 77?Original R-77 had a radio (radar) proximity fuse. It was later replaced with laser. GGTharos Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 Right, but that doesn't tell you anything about its capability. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
