can't start game

hello i am brand new to this site and i hope that someone can help me. i am using Windows Vista and i bought this game (DSC BLACKSHARK) and i was so excited to give it a try but it just did not happen. As soon as the game begins, there is a message saying "PRESS PAUSE/BREAK TO START). I have tried every single button, tried to connect my joystick, read through the pdf files for the game, but can't figure out how to get this thing up and running. Someone please help!

Hey, welcome to the forum!

 

So basically, you have started the game ;)

 

Look into your key assignment page and assign the pause key anew. That should do the trick.

 

Oh and btw. this thread will surely get moved to general discussion, so plz post there next time, as this forum is reserved for announcements by ED.

Are you using a special keyboard (like the G15) or laptop? In many cases this would mean that you need to hold a special function key to be able to access the Pause/Break function (because hardware manufacturers are too cool to care about standards).

 

Do note that "Pause/Break" means literally Pause/Break. If you are using Apple hardware you will not have one and need to map this function to another key in your options screen.
