Zoandar Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 I am re-acquainting myself to LOMAC 1.12b, after a long time away from it, so learning all over again. While practicing using the AGM65 on ground targets in the "FLY (the A-10)" scenario, sometimes when I execute the command to select the next ground target, usually after having just fired an AGM at a previously locked target, I am getting a red square instead of the typical green diamond around a target. I have forgotten what that means, and haven't had any luck so far trying to find it mentioned on the forums or in the manuals. Could someone please tell me what it is for, or where I can read about it? Thanks. Zoandar
littlejohn1959 Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 i think you may have the ''easy radar'' clicked ,, in the options menu ,, mate . hope that helps . cheers . [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
thaFunkster Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 I hate that easy radar. Sometimes when I hit 'random' in the Fast Battle Planner, I end up with that. I find it harder to use in the F15 than the normal radar.... Funk on YouTube!
Brit_Radar_Dude Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 From memory, I think SHIFT/I is the Easy radar on/off toggle........... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Sorry Death, you lose! It was Professor Plum....
Zoandar Posted November 11, 2009 Author Posted November 11, 2009 Thanks. I did finally locate at the very end of the Quick Start Guide where it tells about Easy Radar and the red squares. It does red triangles for airborne targets too, but I usually fly the A-10, as that is my favorite plane, so I had not seen the red triangles. Hi Brit Radar Dude! I don't know if you remember me, but you were the fellow who helped me out the most when I first got this game a few years back. I even tried to look up your member name tonight but I guess I didn't remember it correctly. Glad to see you are still alive and kicking! LockON is a lot of fun for me, but there is also quite a lot to learn and to remember. I got away from it for a long time, and so unfortunately forgot a lot I had learned. This time around I am keeping much more detailed notes so I can find the things I am learning now later on when I need them. I just got a Matrox TH2Go, and am rolling with triple displays now. It sure makes finding those tiny ground targets easier! :D Thanks everyone for the replies! Zoandar
Brit_Radar_Dude Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 Yeah, I'm still around. I remember you quite well - we had a long 4 page thread on the UBI forum ( http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/38610606/m/7221059326 ). That thread covered a heck of a lot of stuff and I sometimes point noobs to it as a useful 1st step for them since it tends to answer questions they haven't even asked yet! I tend to cut and paste useful stuff I find on the forums and save it as a suitably named text file on my hard drive together with the link to where it was. That speeds up being able to give help to folks. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Sorry Death, you lose! It was Professor Plum....
Zoandar Posted November 12, 2009 Author Posted November 12, 2009 (edited) I am honored that you found our dialog useful to help others. It wasn't until after I had posted this initial question that it came to mind I should try searching for my own past posts. I probably would find answers again to these same questions. Thanks for putting the link in here. I look forward to reviewing our dialog.Cheers!Zoandar Edited November 12, 2009 by Zoandar
