STP Dragon Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Hi ED-Developers, I found an problem with the direction of the wind. In my point of view the definition of "wind-direction" is the direction the wind is coming from. In the missioneditor I can add wind and adjust the wind-direction. But in the game the direction the wind is coming from is exact the opposite of what I adjusted in the mission editor. So the wind-direction I can adjust in the missioneditor is the direction the wind is leaving to. Not the direction the wind is coming from. Please ED, give me a statement. Will this be fixed? Or am I wrong? STP Dragon Posted November 26, 2009 Author Posted November 26, 2009 Aha... and the navigation-wind-direction is the opposite of the meteorological-wind-direction? 26-J39 Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Yes meteorological AFAIK states wind origin (coming from) used in PVI.... ME is in Nav stating wind direction (going to).
ZaltysZ Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Aha... and the navigation-wind-direction is the opposite of the meteorological-wind-direction? Yes. However, keep in mind, that not whole game uses navigational (a.k.a. true) wind direction. Towers announce wind using meteorological direction, so that you can easier turn into the wind without any calculations. Avionics of Ka-50 also use meteorological direction of wind. STP Dragon Posted November 26, 2009 Author Posted November 26, 2009 OK, Thank you guys and sorry for the wrong bug-report. Shaman Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 Still, the briefing screen should include directions from where the wind is blowing from otherwise it is confusing for the pilots. 51PVO Founding member (DEC2007-) 100KIAP Founding member (DEC2018-) :: Shaman aka [100☭] Shamansky tail# 44 or 444 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 100KIAP Regiment Early Warning & Control officer
