Argh - ok, so as many folks have said in multiple different threads, you must use notepad++ to view mission files.

Only problem is, when I open a mission with notepad++, I just get a bunch of "garbely-gook", not the clean readable / editable English format shown in many snapshots.

How do I configure notepad++ to properly display the mission file so I can actually edit it?

(see attached to see what I'm seeing)

Thanks in advance!

The MIZ mission file is an archive, which you need to open with a program like WinZip and WinRar. Inside the archive, you may find a number of files and folders, depending on the mission. One of the files will be called "mission." That is the single file that contains all of the mission data as set in the mission editor and it can be opened with a text/code editor.
