Can't unpause the game

I everybody. Need your help if possible. I have the black shark game and every thing works perfectly until i enter the game and unpause the game, it simply does nothing. I switched the keys but i can't still unpause the game. If someone could help me i would appreciate a lot.

What type kleyboard do you have, and are you certain that you are using the "Pause/Break" key, not the "P" key?

 

Note that some keyboard (Apple keyboards and som laptops, mainly) do not have the "Pause/Break" key, whereas some PC keyboards require that you hold an "Fn" key to access the pause/break.

I'm using a logitech keyboard and i'm using de pause/break key and he doesn't work with the "FN mode" key. It's weird because the keyboard works when i press the esc key to jump out of the game.

Which logitech keyboard specifically?

I'm using Logitech S510 the package of mouse and keyboard. Oh and by the way i'm using windows 7 ultimate edition with all the administrator privileges activaded. Is it possible to be an incompatibility with the operative system? And i found this in the forum but i don-t know what is the NewView folder and how to deactivate it.

A: If you are running NewView, this is probably the source of the problem. You need to either Alt-Tab out and back into the sim or rename the NewView folder prior to starting the sim.

 

(Added. Please, do not use Windows hotkeys (such a Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V etc.) in Save and Load Profile dialogs - it may result to load incorrect profile. USSR_Rik).

That is if you are using NewView. If you don't know what it is you most likely don't have it.

 

However, I can with certainty say that DCS is compatible with Win7. Many users run DCS on it with great success. Whether that Logitech Package is compatible I don't know though. Personally I always run mice and keyboards without dedicated driver and software suites.

 

If possible, borrow a friend/family member's keyboard and mouse and test with those instead. If that corrects the issue the keyboard is definitely your problem and I would recommend looking for newer drivers - if newer drivers do not exist for Win7, see if there are Vista drivers that are newer than your Win7 drivers. If so, test them - they will probably work. If it's all without luck you can try disabling the driver for the keyboard and see if you get to keep the functionality on a pure "plug & pray" basis.

It's strange because when i use the modifier key right ctrl with pause he works and show me the fps. Thanks for the help, i'm going to try with another keyboard. Probably will work.

I have Windows 7 64bit with same problem-cannot unpause-but my problem is at start of sim most of the time.

Loads fine to opening screen,set fps try to load stick position -using RCtrl + Enter- and pow I know if stick position is not viewable sim will not unpause to start.

Sometimes after a couple of missions, mostly at initial start of sim.

Which keyboard do you use, Buzzman, and does the problem change if you are using an other keyboard?

Followed the install different folder suggestion,works great.I disabled all compatabilty and admin tools also.No problems so far..

 

EtherealN I use a Keytronics kb since win98se...still works good.

I'm having the same problem with my HP dv9700 laptop with Windows 7 x86. It uses the Fn key to enable Pause or Break, and even after mapping LCTL-P, I can't unpause the initial screen. I have tried running as administrator with no luck, and I verified that the Starforce driver is 5.7 so that it isn't a pre-3.x driver that is causing the issue.

 

I also could not find Fn on the list of modifiers, nor did pressing it enable Fn as a modifier, and as a result pressing Fn+Pause or Break results in Pgup and Pgdn respectively.

 

Any ideas?

 

EDIT: Sorry, just realized that this was a BS1 post, and my issue is with FC2. Was able to map pause to LCTL-O in BS1 just fine.

This issue is still happenning Home Fries.

When i first installed windows 7 on my fresh built PC, my MacOs usb keyboard without bootcamp drivers didn't recognized F13-F19, Fn modifier and other special keys.

Changing Pause/unpause key assignment was useless in DCS.

After long hours and many test over the web, i finally decided to install Bootcamp, and modified registry to support Standard functions keys. Now my pause/unPause is F16. like on my mac.

 

For Dell or laptop PC Keyboard, as this pause/break key is not mapped by default in windows, i have absolutely no clue.
