Yankee66 Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 Hi, Santa brought me a TrackIR and a Force Feedback Joystick (Saitek Evo Force). TrackIR works like a charm but the Stick does not. Flying itself is not a big problem, but the trimming does not work. I tried to switch the FF Axis' and i tried to switch between the "old" and the "new" trimming method. No dice. What happens is: Whenever I press the "Trim" Button, i feel the FF "release" the stick and after trimming, "forcing" the Stick back into neutral. Everytime then, the Chopper pitches up rapidly instead of holding its trim. If i switch the FF Axis, its the same. Looking at the Control Input with SHIFT+ENTER reveals, that after releasing the "Trim"-Button, the Stick goes into neutral and the "Control-Indicator" moves into neutral position also, forcing the Nose upward. If i disable the FF-Feature in Producer.cfg (using Notepad++), trimming works perfectly fine. Enabling it in the Producer.cfg messes trimming up completely, regardless of ingame Trim-Settings. EtherealN Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 Yeah, the Saitek Cyborg has a few issues with the trimmer implementation in DCS:BS. I think someone managed to make it work through physically removing the centering spring and being very specific with their Force Strength settings in windows, but for myself (I use the Cyborg Evo Force) I decided to just go with the non-FFB trim. (Especially since my pedal set doesn't have force so I wouldn't be using it on the rudder anyhow...) Yankee66 Posted December 28, 2009 Author Posted December 28, 2009 Maybe this info will help: Thread: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=45325&highlight=Evo+Force Post with settings, etc.: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=755405&postcount=18 Thanks, but it didn't work either. Tried the posted FFB Settings but the effect still remains. As soon as i release the stick after trimming, the heli pitches up. I decided to just go with the non-FFB trim. Seems i'll do that too. Too bad i cannot make it work as it should. :( At least it flies like a charm with FFB disabled. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

I have same problem as you, only one difference - using Logitech G940, the only option to make the trimmer to work, is to disable the FF in file :-( ... But that is sad, I payed money to have the FF :-( ... sad sad and I still cannot find the solution :-(
Breakpain Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 I have same problem as you, only one difference - using Logitech G940, the only option to make the trimmer to work, is to disable the FF in file :-( ... But that is sad, I payed money to have the FF :-( ... sad sad and I still cannot find the solution :-( Now I know my solution for G940. Everything work fine with the trim button, unless I put away my hand. Bu the trim should work even if I am not touching the joystick, right. Whenever I put my hand away, joystick get back to neutral position, and why? It has a sensor, that knows, if your hand on it (it works Ok), or if you hand is away (automaticaly centered). There is the problem. So I took a sticker, put it over the sensor and now, it holds trim position, even if my hand is away, cool :-).
