-GI- Xfire Posted April 12, 2005 Posted April 12, 2005 hi, im modelling a german fast attack boat (class 143A gepard) right now. ed, is it necessary to model also the "underwater"- hull or how are boats realised in your programming ? what i`ve to care about ? greetings xfire german-interceptors mfg Geisterbaer 49th
Trident Posted April 12, 2005 Posted April 12, 2005 Going by the model viewer in the LOMAC encyclopedia some models have the underwater hull modelled, some don't. Whatever you do is probably ok, although modelling the hull below the waterline would be preferable, I suppose ;)
Caretaker Posted April 12, 2005 Posted April 12, 2005 I'd also model it completely. Should ED ever decide to implement some more varied ship sinking animations (Silent Hunter III anyone? ;)), that could come in handy. Caretaker ED Beta Test Team
KuostA Posted April 13, 2005 Posted April 13, 2005 Yup, if you ever mess around in the editor, and place the Kuz on land, or simply view ships in the LOMAC encyclopedia, you'll notice that most have are completely modeled and well done. You should cover, and model the lower hull, but just not add much detail to it. As long as their isnt a sudden blank space with air, it should do! Glad to see people are looking into creating 3rd party models, not only for fighter aircraft, but for airliners, Cars, boats, and artillary! Hope to see some work in progress shots soon.
