I've needed to uninstall and reinstall my lockon FC1.12b installs due to a corrupt install due to a mod, but my problem has been that when i completely uninstall under win7ultimate 64 then reinstall everything the game installs and appears as if i hadn't uninstalled it. As if something is still remaining which is wierd.

Firstly, could the fact that when asked to save the registry info due to starforce activation when uninstalling FC, could this be what's remaining that's preventing me from completely uninstallling all content?

Secondly, since i have saved my original registry starforce activation settings when i purchased the game i really don't need to keep saving the registry when uninstalling, and need to know where are all the saved registries located when you allow the uninstaller to save them? I want to delete these additional registries.

Thanks

Uninstall mods (modman)

Uninstall LockOn

Delete LockOn folder

Install LockOn again

Install mods again (modman)

Should be enough

I've done this. Only when i reinstall to a completely new directory does it install clean. Just uninstalling in that order isn't enough.. something is still there but i don't have a clue as to what it is. Modman (uninstalled), all mods uninstalled using modman) then modman uninstalled, lock on uninstalled, asks to save registry due to sf and i hit ok, then i remove any last bits remaining after restart which is the desktop icon and the empty folder in the c:/ directory.

Install to c:/program files(x86)/ubisoft/eagledynamics/lockon..... still no skin on A10 and settings pre-uninstall.

You don't need to save the registry, if you are just reinstalling the game you don't need to reactivate (only when hardware or OS changes).

Also, avoid installing in C:\program files(x86)

After a complete uninstallation via the Add/Remove programs tab, apart from clearing the registry via 'regedit' you also need to manually delete your Ubisoft Folder from your Programs directory as well as your Modman Folder from your HDD Directory. There are leftover folders after an uninstall that explains the issue you are experiencing.

To clear the registry, via the start menu, hit run and type 'regedit'. Hit OK and navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER/SOFTWARE and find the Eagle Dynamics entry. Highlight and delete.

Do the same for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE and the Ubisoft entry. Highlight and delete.

Reboot.

This is how I do it on XP, I would think it's the same on Vista and Win 7
