daggy Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 Hi, I'm new to the forums, so howdy. I've had Lock On installed on this computer before andnot had these problems. system stuff Windows Vista Home Premium Inter Core 2 1.7 GHZ Nvidia GEforce 7400 1Gb RAM Running Lock on 1.0, not flaming cliffs, I'ce tried updating to 1.02, but it made no difference. When I load the game up the picture doesn't fit my screen. It sits high so there is a black bar below the screen whilst loading and also to the right so the lock on logo is cut off. Once the game has loaded the options menu is displayed correctly, however when I load the training mission up the text is high and off to the right so half of the text is cut off. I've tried all the different resolutions and it makes no difference to the problem. It's odd as the cockpits are centered, it's just the on screen text and the laoding screen that are buggered. I had to reinstall lock on about a week ago and the issue only started then. Any help would be greatly appreicated.
daggy Posted January 15, 2010 Author Posted January 15, 2010 I've managed to attach an image Thats what my loading screen looks like. It's worth noting that it only looks like this on initial load up and when loading up a mission. In between screens and menu options itlooks file.
Tez Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 Open Config\graphics.cfg and manually set proper aspect for DisplayMode, Interface & Simulation. eg:Interface { resolution = {1024, 768}; bpp = 32; fullscreen = 0; aspect = 1.333333373; }If you will ever visit the in-game graphics options the settings will reset. daggy Posted January 15, 2010 Author Posted January 15, 2010 thank you for the reply. Any idea what settings I'd have for a 15" screen? also I've made thew problem worse by using system restore.
S77th-konkussion Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 15 inch monitor?? **cold shivers.. nausea... :puke: reference: http://konkussion.webs.com/lockonmac.htm You might want to start over- reinstall, and update it. You should update it ALL THE WAY, but that's a different conversation. It's not so much the monitor size, it's more what your display properties are set to. Right click anywhere on your desktop (not on an icon) and go into properties, or CAT control center or Nvidia (depends on your graphics card.) Determine the resolution you have the desktop set to. example 1024x768 Make changes if you want- just note the new resolution. Go into LOMAC main menu / options. Flip the virtual rotary switch to "graphics" Select the resolution that matches your desktop. If there is no matching selection (unlikely on a 15 inch monitor) uh oh.. mmphh ... :puke: anyway.. Then follow the instructions CAREFULLY on this thread: http://konkussion.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=lomac&action=display&thread=37 [sIGPIC]http://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=43337&d=1287169113[/sIGPIC]
daggy Posted January 16, 2010 Author Posted January 16, 2010 Yup it's 15" as it's a laptop... 15.9" actually :P I know, laptop - cardinal sin. Hopefully get myself a decent gaming rig when student loans come through bah Anyway, thanks for your help, I never found out the reason for the screen problems, but managed to correct the issue with installshield and thus completely unistalled and reinstalled the game. Tried deleting all the files I could find in widnows explorer beforehand, but it still didn't register as I still couldn't remove the program from add/remove programs as the unistall shield was broke. Thanks very much for all your help guys
