mavyalex Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 Hello, Is it possible to load different keyboard key maps when launching Flaming Cliffs? For example: I would like one keyboard setting for doing 'voltige" and another for standard aerial combat. I know somebody that uses 2 joysticks for the same game: one for doing normal combat and another just for "voltige"..;But he uses his joystick buttons to do that. I'm asking for software mapping...Is there such a Lock-on utility (I heard LoPlug would be able to do this later maybe wuth modules?) I just have 1 basic Thrustmaster USB joystick with only 4 buttons, so I have to go to the Input section of FC to change key mapping everytime and it's quite frustrating. Cheers. golfsierra2 Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 (edited) Your keybord layout is stored under Lock On/input/keyboard.ini I think the best way would be to store the current layout, rename it as keyboard1.ini, go to the options menu of Lock-On, change all the commands that you want to have with the second layout as keyboard2.ini , and write a small batch program that allows you to swap the keybord layouts by pressing a specified button, like F12. All of this is just theory, I can't do that and it never was tested / done before. And I don't know, if Lock-On accepts changing the keyboard layout without restarting the game. Just my guess what could make your idea work... Edited January 29, 2010 by golfsierra2 kind regards, Raven.... [sigpic]http://www.crc-mindreader.de/CRT/images/Birds2011.gif[/sigpic]
golfsierra2 Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 I found a free tool, that allows to use two keyboards simultaneously. Instead of toggling between two keyboard layouts, this might have potential to work with LOFC. http://hidmacros.medek.info/whatisit.php Key features * manage multiple keyboards/mouses connected to one PC * different key on different keyboard has assigned it's own command kind regards, Raven....
