Hi, I am stuck on Mission 2 of the F-15 campaign, the one called "Escort A10-A". I have seemingly completed the mission a number of times but each time I do so the tick box which indicates completion of the mission remains unticked so that I cannot progress to mission 3.

I am playing vanilla LOMAC (NOT Flaming Cliffs) patched to v1.02

To save progress, I quit the mission after completion and click File - Save/Save As and then save it as a Campaign file. This was how I got through the A-10 campaign by saving progress and it worked on mission 1 on the A10 campaign, which I eventually got through.

I don`t know if there is a glitch in the game or whether I am not doing something necessary to complete the misison. Even though I have shot down all 4 Russian planes and landed back at base it and have been given the "success" indication on quiting the mission after completion, the tick box remains unticked and I cannot proceed to mission 3.

I would be grateful for any help, otherwise I`ll have to give up on this campaign, I must have "completed" it about 10 times but the game seems to refuse that I`ve completed the mission. I searched the forums and internet already but cannot find any solution. Thanks.

Did the A10 (all of them- if more than one) land safely as well? Did you cross all the waypoints?

I haven't flown offline for 5 minutes since the release of the game- but I seem to remember stuff like this affecting campaigns. I also remember that one of the F15 missions would simply freeze & crash- it was a documented problem that may or may not have been corrected in susequent patches..

Could have been a single mission or a campaign.. .. :dunno:

As i remember - when i flew this mission 3 years ago - i killed all SA-13 Strela with Sparrows before they shot the Hogs:joystick: just use like an unguided missile :smilewink:

Hi, thanks for responses. In my desparation I specifically flew all the way points and waited for the A10`s to land on the last time I tried the mission, but still the tick box for completion of the mission was unchecked. However, I had been shot down by a SAM after I`d downed the Russians (doh) so had to "recover" to fly again, so maybe this affected the result?

I did not have to fly all the waypoints to complete the missions on the A10 Campaign, but maybe the code for this particular F-15 mission is written too restrictively?

It`s not the Hogs being shot down which is the problem, I`ve not lost one Hog on all 20 or so attempts at this mission.

I seem to recall that when I last flew this, the A-10's go wandering off looking for other targets (and thus likely get zapped) once they have killed the vehicles they are tasked with destroying. Sometimes happens with missions when you are relying on the AI to do something in order to get a SUCCESS. If you killed the threats. then youve done what you should do. Use the stuff below to enable you to move on with the campaign.

Here is my standard "I want to get further on in a campaign and the stupid %$£&* wont let me" cut and paste.

After you finish a mission in a campaign, go through the debrief screen to the next mission, quit from that one and you save your progress by clicking (top left) "file" then "save". Don't confuse this type of saving with "save states" (ie the save button on the window you get after pressing ESC to quit). I have never had save states work, most folks haven't - it seems to be borked.

But anyway, you are getting frustrated with the whole thing and just want to fly and get further on in the campaign....

There are possible workarounds, so lets get into those.

You can declassify a campaign (or a standalone mission) in the Mission Editor and fly the campaign missions in any order you want (plus change skins, weapon loadout, etc). I use this method all the time to cherry-pick the fun missions in a campaign and miss out the dull ones.

Go into Mission Editor, upper left of screen click on the open button, bottom right TYPE OF FILE select CAMPAIGN, navigate the folder structure to the campaign you want and select it. Bottom right click on MAP. Now you will see the 1st mission of your campaign.

Many standalone missions and campaigns are classified with a password so that they cannot be easily/accidentally changed. The stock standalone missions and campaigns that come with Lockon use the password EAGLE.

Top left, click on EDIT, then DECLASSIFY, enter the password EAGLE. Now all the missions in the campaign should appear on the right hand side, so select the mission you want to fly. If you wish, you can select your aircraft, select PAYLOAD and pick different weapons / fuel load / skin. You can add or remove other units, change the weather, time of day etc.

If you have downloaded any of the excellent missions/campaigns designed by the Lockon community, then some may be classified. Either the briefing notes or the readme file may tell you the password. Some may not. If not, then you can still get in by overwriting the password with your own. Use keystrokes rather than the pulldown menu to do this.

Press "ctrl + left shift + C" then type in a password of your choice e.g. 1234.

Now press "ctrl + left shift + D" and enter your password e.g. 1234

NOTE that Lockon does not seem to remember this, so you may have to do it each time you restart Lockon.

Thanks for your response, your declassify suggestion has allowed me to at least see the remainder of the missions which comprise the default F-15 Campaign.

I could not declassify using "EAGLE" and thought my installation of LOMAC was at fault so reinstalled it. I Still could not declassify but it then worked using "eagle" (lower case) and I was able to declassify, lol.

I should now be able to finish the F-15 campaign, having declassified it. I can also now change other seetings, like weather, etc.

Many thanks.

Hope you have fun flying them.

Be warned, you'll have trouble getting SUCCESS on the last mission (escort anti-ship) in the F-15 campaign. The Tornadoes stand very little chance of sinking the Admiral Kuznetsov. Its SAM's can easily shoot down the (Sea Eagle and ALARM) missiles fired at it.

Be happy and regard yourself as successful if you keep the Tornadoes alive so they can at least have a go.
