AI Unplanned Landings and Multiplayer Spawning Error

This is appears to be some sort of logic bug.

 

Situation:

AI aircraft decides to land at a base not part of its flight path. This can be caused by damage or low fuel.

 

Test Method:

Set 4 client Ka-50 spawns at Krymsk AB. When any slot is selected the player spawns by default on the Norther Ramp. If more players slots exist they spawn at the larger parking areas.... Mission has a AI fighter aircraft set to fly near Krymsk but land at another airbase. Their fuel is set to 5-10% causing them to immediately divert to the nearest AB (Krymsk)

 

Reaction:

Fighter promptly lands at Krymsk and begins to taxi to a parking area. By default it parks in the same location that client#4 would spawn. However if that parking spot is occupied the fighter moves to client#3 spawn location. (Didn't test where he parks if player is in game but airborne) When a player selects client#3 it spawns them automatically on the runway adjacent to and facing the last taxiway.

 

Solution?:

Force AI to park at first available parking. By default AI and players always spawn at the shortest physical distance to take off, and when they land taxi to the closest parking to takeoff. Setting change would force them park furthest to closest, hence opposite of what they do now and hopefully minimizing possible spawning conflicts.

 

Could also force them to park in the covered bunker parking bays. Majority of the airbases have these and since players can't use em, might as well make them the preferred home to the AI.

The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world.
