About two days ago I finally installed a video card that is actually up to the task of running this magnificent simulator on my Philips 30" HDTV.......

(AMD 3200, 1 GIG RAM, 2 Maxtor 80 GIG HD in SATA RAID O, 480 True Blue PS, Cougar HOTAS)

I'm now useing a XFX 6600 256 MB AGF and I can run with all of the settings on high except for water which is set to medium.....

Everything runs smoothly and there really aren't any problems while I'm in the game......

The thing that I'm really puzzeled about is the slash screens.......

I had seen posts from others regarding the size, their overscanned.....

NVida has done an outstanding job with their TV tools and I've had no real issues setting up the timeing for the desk top, ect.....

But the splash screens in Lock on are really overscanned considerably, which I can work around in most cases but I can't set up the pilots log book because I just can't get that far over to the right side of the screen.....

Is there somewhere in the files which will allow me to reconfigure the screens or maybe there's a way to to set up an overscan compensator ?????

Short of using powestrip... dunno....

BTW...are you using the the full hd resolution (1920x1080) or a pseudo size?

Now that ATI has CAT's (5.4) that go thru a HD wizard, I was thinking of trying it out for

a looksee, but was curious of your settings and visuals...

Thanks,

Brett

Power Strip ? Been there done that....

PS really isn't as good for setting up a HTPC then the NVidia tools, this was discussed on the power strip forum and PS even admitted that NVidia's tools are far superior (NVidia is a larger company with bigger resourses but actually used PS as there guide)....

I'm presently running 720x480 for the desk top as thats all that the set will accept but I'm able to run the Lock on at 1024 x 768......

Once you pass the spalsh screen and get into flight it's really awsome.....

Playing Lock on with a 30" screen can give you vertigo its that good .......

And the other benifit is that I didn't have to shell out $ 4000.00 for a Plasma or LCD........

I've been looking into tweeking the graphic configuration files but I'm going to try it out when I have more time....

About ATI I'm not sure but I don't think theyve gotten any TV tools implemented as of yet and you might have to down load Power Strip to make this happen.....

I'll keep you all informed as to my findings if your interested.....
