I have a problem listed in the Known bugs data base with solutions and workarounds, that is:

Q: The sim does not respond to keyboard commands and I cannot un-pause the sim. I’m unable to save and restore my joystick profiles.

A: If you are running NewView, this is probably the source of the problem. You need to either Alt-Tab out and back into the sim or rename the NewView folder prior to starting the sim.

(Added. Please, do not use Windows hotkeys (such a Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V etc.) in Save and Load Profile dialogs - it may result to load incorrect profile. USSR_Rik).

Actually, the game just can't recognize my standard and wirless keyborad, but I really don't konw what is NewView, and can't find the folder. Can anyone help me? Many Thanks!

I have an iMac 27' run on boot camp, windows 7 ultimate 64x, i5, 4G Ram, ATI 4850 512M

Mac have a pause/break key? if not, you need to re-map the command to another key in options-control.

If the problem is that no one key is recognized, mhhh, I'm a bit lost.

PD: I think Newview is a program, not part of DCS.

Thank you for your help. Actually, I use a standard Logitech keyboard which include a pause/break key. It is the problem of recognition, no key is functional, even in the menu, keyboard is not listed there, while joystick is available, but I can't save the profile, so I still can't enjoy the game. I am new to black shark, a veteran of FSX, just want to taste some exciting and real military simulation like black shark. So sad it doesn't work! Anyway, thank you very much for your help!

If you try going into the game anyway (to an actual mission), and then quit, could you see if you get these files generated and perhaps they will provide some useful content to consider:

C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\Ka-50\Temp>dir *input*

Volume in drive C is bringit
Volume Serial Number is C8EE-2179
Directory of C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\Ka-50\Temp
14/03/2010 08:02 AM 52,034 inputscript.log
14/03/2010 08:02 AM 99 NewInputDevices.txt
14/03/2010 08:02 AM 0 newinputlog.txt
14/03/2010 08:02 AM 3,212 NewInputStart.txt
              4 File(s) 55,345 bytes
              0 Dir(s) 46,209,687,552 bytes free

C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\Ka-50\Temp>

All sorts of device recognition seems to attempt to take place and be reported in those files, whether it's keyboards, mice, soft devices, head track units, or joysticks. Don't know what to expect given your problem, but a scan might give some clue.

Hi guys,

Was this issue solved? I have the exact same problem. I use a 27" iMac with Windows 7 64bit Home Premium. The keyboard is an iMac standard one. Can't unpause my game in Flaming Cliffs 2 or Black Shark. I tried assigning different key commands like shift+P but nothing works. The game does read these commands without a problem when I assign them in the control options menu, but it does not work in game.

On the other hand, DCS A-10 Warthog works flawlessly without this issue. I swapped the pause key command for Shift+P.

Could you please help?? I want to play so much.

Cheers. :)

I have actually just found the solution on the Russian forums. It's really easy.

When you reassign the keyboard commands for 'Pause' on the controls options menu, you should do this for each aircraft profile. Go to the drop-down menu in the top left corner to change the profiles.

Hope this helps someone. ;)

It helped me! I'm on a 2010 Macbook Pro and couldn't figure out why it wasn't working when A-10C worked fine. Turns out I was only updating the "free camera" settings. Now I did it for the other profiles and it works. Thanks!

Curiously though, I even tried the Windows 7 on screen keyboard and the "Pause" button by itself wouldn't work there either, but it did work when using a modifier to bring up the FPS info
