MadTommy Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 I have a question...or two. I've started making a mission in the BCS:BS editor that i indented to use for FC2 when its released. But i'm concerned it may be a waste of time.... i assumed this would work as both BS & FC2 will use the same editor & will be multiplayer compatible.. but i have since read that BS will be getting a patch to make it compatible with FC2. Will missions made in the present DSC:BS editor be compatible with FC2? And also will my present BS missions still be usable after the compatibly patch? Or will i just have to wait and see? :) i5-3570K @ 4.5 Ghz, Asus P8Z77-V, 8 GB DDR3, 1.5GB GTX 480 (EVGA, superclocked), SSD, 2 x 1680x1050, x-fi extreme music. Grimes Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 I've been told that they *should* work. With the only changes needed are likely to be minor. Most likely just needing to change the pilot to a client slot or something similar to that. But I too would like a concrete yes or no answer. Preferably telling whats different between the two games :D I've got a super cool mission that would be a terrible waste for just Ka-50 MP. The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. MadTommy Posted March 24, 2010 Author Posted March 24, 2010 Cheers.. yeah obviously some tweaking will be needed, as you point out you can't set fixed wing aircraft as 'client' for example. I suppose if existing DSC:BS mission will still work after the patch then we should be good to go. So will the DCS:BS compatibility patch bork 1.01 made missions? i5-3570K @ 4.5 Ghz, Asus P8Z77-V, 8 GB DDR3, 1.5GB GTX 480 (EVGA, superclocked), SSD, 2 x 1680x1050, x-fi extreme music. andyfoot Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 From the FAQ Q: Will it be possible to build missions in both Black Shark and Flaming Cliffs FC 2.0 and use them interchangeably? A: For the most part yes, but some mission modification would probably be needed due to a different set of flyable aircraft.
Panzertard Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 (edited) It should work yes, but as always with testing & QA - there may be minor issues we havent spotted while we tested.
