Will FC 2.0 be available for purchase from ED

I dont want to buy it from that other lockon site. That site wont even let me download the 1.12b patch when I am signed in........

 

I dont have any confidence making a purchase through that site.

 

Anyway yea, I do not like the lockon site at all.

 

I already have my DCS purchase here through ED, id rather keep my purchases on one site.........as opposed to scattered about the place.

 

Will FC 2.0 be available to download from this ED site just like DCS is?

By "that lockon site", if you mean lockon.co.uk or lockon.ru, you realize that that is a site run by Eagle Dynamics? Go there and press "Forum" and you end up here. Also scroll to the bottom to see the copyright statement. The reason why there's different sites is that it's different products with different brands - DCS has the DCS site and LockOn has the LockOn site.

 

If you have trouble getting downloads to work this is something that can hopefully be fixed if you have details - which mirror etcetera? It is possible that a great volume of downloads and purchases have caused the server to be overloaded.

Yeah I assumed it's run by ED, but for whatever reason that site gives me problems any time ive ever tried to use it.

 

I was trying to get the 1.12b patch the other day, and it kept asking for authorization, it wanted a username and password even though I was already signed in, and it would not accept the name and password for its second authorization request.

 

I tried all the USA mirrors, and it would just deny me every time.

 

I had the same problem when I very first got flaming cliffs a couple years ago.

 

Anyway I just checked it again, and apparently its in a good mood today, as it was allowing me access to the patch.

 

I just dont like how fickle the site is.

I guess maybe they use the same servers for FC 2.0, and they were overloaded......Your guess is as good as mine.

 

I just havent had the best experiences with the site.

 

I guess if its against the law or something to sell it on the DCS site then it wont be available here.

 

I just think its inconvenient. I know I would prefer if ED just had it set up so we could just do one stop shopping for all ED products.

Actually, as far as i know lockon.co.uk and digitalcombatsimulator.com use the same underlyuing framwork and reside on the same servers at the same server farm. Your problem sounds like a cookie or session issue, which can be caused by anything from your web browser all the way through your ISP, their backbone, the datacentre backbone and all the way into the actual site.

 

Also note that the new site does allow download without login (I tested this just now), so any cookie/session issues that might have existed in the past should not be in effect now. It might cause issues in performing a purchase, but the worst thing that can happen there would be that the purchase just fails. You would not lose money.

lockon.co.uk website has been very recently upgraded, perhaps you experience is with the older one. You don't even need to be logged to download games or patches, just for buying. Try it.
