Tracking Ground Targets

I was flying the SU-25 and trying to track targets..

I am used to tracking the moving targets in the Ka-50, with the ground moving lock..

 

I was trying to find, track, and lock moving ground targets with the SU-25(T), and found that I had to slew my TV viewer (using the tv screen and my mini-mouse) cursor, but it had to be extremely close and then it would lock onto the moving ground unit..

 

but, I still had some problems..

The lock ont eh oving target was very didffcult to obtain, unless I had manually scanned very close tot he moving target (within a few feet), and then sometime the missle would be hard to lock ont he target unless I was very close, and would soemtime miss the target.

 

In Black Shark helo, it is very easy to lock on and hit targets..

 

I am wondering if I am doing al the procedures right..

 

I am going ot go back and look again at the training videos. I am trying to learn how to properly use the ground radar on aircraft.

 

Any suggestions on what to look at and try to learn these procedures?
