h00t74 Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Just a quick question for those that know server boxes, Would a WINDOWS SERVER box be able to run Flaming Cliffs 2.0?
theGozr Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Been running Lockon on Server 2003, Server 2008 than Server 2008 R2 no problem ( you need to add some things ) Fly it like you stole it..
104th_Crunch Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 You need to have a 3d video card installed since the server will be runnning the the 3D game app.
Moa Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 You don't need any edition "Windows Server" to run the game, so don't waste money getting it (and don't use a pirated edition either :)). A regular desktop edition of Windows is fine - you don't even need to waste money on a "Pro" version since your machine is unlikely to be part of an Active Directory domain (yeah?). As Crunch said, you need a 3d video card installed, and your LockOn instance needs direct access to it. Therefore, a virtualized server instance will not work very well (although 3D acceleration is getting better and better these days).
