Kaos Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 (edited) Hello Gentlemen. I have been a PC head Simmer for many years (since I gave up on Amigas) and have flown LOMAC, FC, BS and like many of you FC2 recently but some serious system issues of late prompted me to acquire a new machine..... Sims aren't the only use for a computer in my household so I've gone for an IMac I7 and having done some research on this and other forums thought I could easily get BS to work in Boot Camp. It loads. Looks fantastic in 2560x1440 at an awesome frame rate but there are several things I haven't got to work yet. If any of you were able to help with some of the issues I'm facing I would much appreciate it! OK, here's the list.... 1 No sound in Windows at all! 2 Whilst the magic mouse is seen by Windows, I can't seem to get it work. 3 Track IR4 isn't recognised as being plugged in? Thank you in advance for any assistance you might be able to give...< S Edited April 18, 2010 by Kaos formatting | FC3 | KA-50 | A-10C | MIG-21Bis | F-86F | UH-1H | HAWK T.1A | F/A-18C | AV-8B N\A | F-14B | F-16C | AJS-37 | CA | NEVADA | PERSIAN GULF | SUPER CARRIER | SYRIA
Zorrin Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 Did you make sure to update the drivers from the Mac DVD after you'd installed Windows? Might be worth trying this: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2330872&tstart=120 Try http://arstechnica.com/hardware/news/2009/11/apple-magic-mouse-drivers-for-windows.ars for your mouse. And sorry never used Track IR! Eagles may soar, but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.
Mugatu Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 Think I'll get the next iMac update too and an iPad for watching TV, web etc replacing my macbook pro. You should be good to go if you've installed the win7 bootcamp drivers. http://support.apple.com/downloads/#macoscomponents
Kaos Posted April 18, 2010 Author Posted April 18, 2010 Maybe I should have mentioned that I installed XP with SP3 on the windows partition. I did load the drivers from the OSX cd...... EtherealN Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 Most of that sounds like driver issues, to be honest. I have very limited experience of running windows on a mac (closest I get is a brother that runs Vista on his macbook through bootcamp). Note that if a new driver doesn't work, it might be the newer driver that's broken for your hardware and you can try a rollback to an older one.
