I installed BlackShark when it originally was released. Now I am returning and I am experiencing a Runtime Error with the launcher.exe whenever I try to run the application. I tried reinstalling and updating the program, but I bought it online and I don't want to trash my limited installs. Any ideas on what could be going wrong? I am using Windows XP and all of my other applications are working.

Distiler, thank you for the reply. I had looked through several stickies and did some searching for solutions earlier, but no success. I have added some supporting files to my post. The upload utility didn't like some of the crash files so I renamed the extension to .txt.

I have made some changes in the past year to my computer since my original installation. This includes a faster processor and an extra memory chip.

You don't need to reactivate if you are just uninstalling/installing the sim without any OS or hardware change, so you won't loose any activation.

anyway pls follow the sticked threads about how to properly inform about problems. For example: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=44466

Are you launching the sim via created icons on desktop or by double clicking launcher.exe?

The error window is labeled as Microsoft visual C++ Runtime Library?

Most probably you just need to update or reinstall Microsoft Visual C++ runtime

There is even a new 2010 version, haven't tested: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=a7b7a05e-6de6-4d3a-a423-37bf0912db84

Thanks again. I am looking at the msdn page and I am not sure exactly where to find the download.

I've edited the links, check again :)

You can try just to update the one you have via Windows update, or download those linked packages.

kernel32.exe error... I don't like the look of that one bit.

Just to do a little elimination, could you disconnect your joystick, racing wheel and so on - preferably including the G15 keyboard? This one raises some flags:

I tried each versions of the runtime files including a reboot. I am now getting the background music to play, but it still crashes and displays the same launcher.exe c++ runtime error. I don't see any updated files in the ka-50/temp folder.

Success!!

I unplugged my USB joysticks and such and the culprit was the Logitech G25 steering wheel. The other devices are OK, that includes the G15 keyboard and the Saitek X52 flight stick and Yoke.

Once it worked, I tried plugging the G25 back in and the same error returned. The G25 was the only device I had plugged in that has force feedback.

Thanks for the help!
