Dung_Beetle Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 I just downloaded, and installed flaming cliffs 2. Their seems to be a problem with the training section. I am getting an error message when I click the training button. the game seems to run fine except for the training section. I reinstalled BlackShark, but have not reinstalled Flaming cliffs 2 yet. I have included an image of the error message, and a dxdiag of my rig.DxDiag.txt
ravenx Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 I have just purchased FC2 and loaded it. There are no training files avalable. When I go to training the page is empty. Anyone got any ideas how to fix this?
EtherealN Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 Moved this to the lockon section. Raven, go to the lockon.co.uk site and log in, click "Flaming Cliffs 2" then "training". You'll then get direct download links and bit-torrent links. Dung_Beetle Posted May 8, 2010 Author Posted May 8, 2010 I installed to the default path, but on the "D" drive: D:\Program Files (x86)\Eagle Dynamics\LockOn Flaming Cliffs 2. Black Shark is located in the same Eagle Dynamics folder. This is the only problem I am having with the game. Considering there are no training files in the training section. I wouldn't really call it a problem. I absoulutely love the new upgrade. It is well worth the money. I can't say enough about it - Just fantastic! - Keep the DCS series coming! - I'll buy every new model you introduce. I'd like to see some tank models in the works (T90C).
EtherealN Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 Have you checked if there's any difference if you start as administrator? EtherealN Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 Being logged in as administrator does not make a difference when running Win7 unless you force UAC off. This is a security feature and (in my opinion) the best feature improvement over XP in that this makes rights escalations impossible and offers another layer of pretection from trojans and malware. Being logged in as administrator does NOT mean that programs you start are run with administrator access. You still have to right-click and select "run as administrator". (Not being admin simply means you don't get that option.) Dung_Beetle Posted May 9, 2010 Author Posted May 9, 2010 I tried starting as administrator, and I get the same error message. I'm thinking that the error message results because there are no training files when I press start. You don't get the same error message? Sorry for making you post that explanation of the difference between logging on as administrator and starting as administrator. I should have read more carefully.
Distiler Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 Click "download" in the training menu and download all training video files from website. AMD Ryzen 1400 // 16 GB DDR4 2933Mhz // Nvidia 1060 6GB // W10 64bit // Microsoft Sidewinder Precision 2
Dung_Beetle Posted May 9, 2010 Author Posted May 9, 2010 OK, got it, although, I'll have to test it later, since I've use up this months data allowance already. Fricking wireless ISP data limits. Thanks Distiler, I must be going blind, I didn't even notice the download button. I just opened training, pressed start, saw the error, and thought I had a bad install.
