I made a mission in the ME and tried to make an image for the blue side, but it is the wrong size. It does not fill up the screen. So, I took an in-game screenshot of the size it wanted, and made one that exact size, but it is still a little too small. It is a jpg image type.

Does it need to be a different image file type? Or what size does it want? Why does it not just stretch the image to fit the area? What is going on here????

Hmm.. that's weird because mine was larger than that, but it did not stretch it to fill the screen. There was still black areas on right and bottom.

So, you are saying that if I make it smaller (512x512), even though it does not fill the area, it will not stretch it, but somehow make it fill the larger area? That seems strange, but I will try it.

EDIT:

Well, that did work. Although, I think that by setting the resolution to 512x512 it does now stretch it to fit. I can see the edges of my fonts are a little blurry, like they are antialiased. Looks fine..

Thanks!

I think the default resolution for the games UI is 1024x768. The resolution of the image is 512x512. So if you make it at an aspect ratio that isn't 1:1 it will stretch it accordingly to fix that space.

In MP it stretches from that resolution to whatever you are running. So as a whole, everything in MP is stretched. The same might be true for SP, but generally I've had better image quality in single player than MP.

The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world.
