Hello,

I have had various problems with new OS's and other pieces of software over the time that I have had BS, though BS itself has always been reliable, and this has necessitated OS reinstallments from time to time. After putting my new OS on and re-installing BS this time I went to 'files' and 'products' to look for my activation number, having stupidly failed to uninstall properly, but now I find the number isn't there. I really cannot think that I have used up 8 re-activations but it is a possibility. I am writing therefore to see if anything can be done and I would be very grateful indeed if you could help.

Thanks in anticipation

The serial number would not "disappear" if you've used up activations, I don't think. Have you verified that you are properly logged in on the same account as used for your original purchase?

Also, since there is a place where confusion can occur, is the screen you are looking at similar to this one:

(I need to make a new sample pic - current screen has several language versions displayed, not just the english one, but aside from that it would be identical.)

Thanks for the quick reply. My screen looks exactly the same except for the absence of an activation number. But what you said about being logged on under a different account might be the problem. I have a feeling that there was a problem and the account details were changed about a year ago - unfortunately I know its pathetic but I can't quite remember. If that is the case, however, what would I have to do then to retrieve my old account details?

Oh, and forgot to mention, my screen does not say 'Buy Again', rather it just says 'Buy' which almost certainly suggests that it does not know that I have the download already.

Maybe check your e-mail? Not sure, but as the protection is the same as in FC2.0, you should have received a confirmation e-mail, stating what you have bought and the activation key with it, at the time of purchase.

Thanks for getting back

Yes, I've thought of that. Unfortunately I got rid of the e-mails that this would have been included in a long time ago. I made a copy and backed it up which would normally have been what I would have used in these circumstances - I'm generally so careful about this, I have 30 odd add ons for things like FSX that I am normally so diligent about retaining purchace and installation information for, but unfortunaletly it seems not this time.
