I thought it was the funniest thing I read this week. And it made me realize how much a pain in the butt, flight simmers can be. I mean, just read through some of the threads past & present, and you would honestly think most flight simmers are on some type of drug. {whatever it is, it is being used in large quanities} lol!!! Each of the following events have stimulated a stream of bizarre and somewhat crazed posts. 1. LOMAC & patches {enough said} 2. FC 1.1 announcement 3. starforce announcement 4. distribution of FC announcement 5. paypal announcement 6. long wait for release of FC 7. actual release of FC and paypal related problems 8. starforce related problems 9. Interuption of sales related problems 10. Bugs and FC 1.1 related issues 11. Naturalpoint CD announcement 12. Conspiracy suspected by some who downloaded & then heard about CD. 13. Shipping of CD by NP. related issues 14. Long wait for ED to resume distribution I'm certain that I missed something, but the more I thought about it the funnier & more bizarre it got. Are we {as flight simmers} in need of therapy??? Or has this become the normal behavior of flight simmers??? "Definately, a different breed, No doubt about it"
ZoomBoy27 Posted April 27, 2005 Posted April 27, 2005 ED has gotten important things wrong, had bad things happen to them which weren't their fault, and further amplified all that by the lack of communications by ED. But I expected a lot of the response to be more sophisticated from flight simmers - especially when it came to realizing there were bound to be problems with a distribution system built from scratch by a small company that didn't know that programming a game was different than actually distributing it. But the response got so frighteningly intense, it certainly was off the scale for the smaller problems. And a lot of it was from people who hadn't bought FC as yet. It was like all the problems they had with all the "systems" in the past, just came pouring out. 2 other things - the intense + paranoic economic debate on the Western vs. Russian prices - the conspiracies around the Electronic Boutique web-page my 2 cents ZoomBoy My Flight Sims Page - Link to My Blog - Sims and Things - DCS Stuff++ - Up-to-Speed Guides to the old Lockon A10A and Su-25T - Some missions [needs update]

I got home and started reading some of the posts and responses to threads. I don't know why it just got more and more hilarious the more I read. Some people really bug-out over things, especially flight-sim related issues.

The lack of communication on the english side of things is not 'imperfection' but something that they simply don't do. Wags is doing as good a job as he can but it falls short. This isn't a bash of ED - but it's simply wrong to explain lack of effort as being 'imperfect' as to make that lack of effort acceptable.
