arjuna Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 Does crossfire benefit FC2 and DCS? :helpsmilie: I'm getting low fps (around 40) generally and around 10 fps on the ground when theres a lot of objects. On high details, 1280 by 1024, AA and AF. I have: Radeon HD4850 1GB DDR3 Phenom 2 x4 @ 4ghz 4 GB Corsair DDR2 RAM Win7 64 bit [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] My PC Game Blog
herig2 Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 (edited) I'm have the crossfire enable box check, dual 5780 and getting much better FPS than you. None lower than 37, strafing targets from the A-10 in a city. But I also have Intel 975 Extreme overclock processor. Edited May 15, 2010 by herig2 spelling [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
_Dredd Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 I'm curious also whether other users are running Crossfire. With SuperSampling enabled the horizon and city object flickering is greatly reduced, however the drawback is that FPS take a hit. Im running 1920x1200 all settings High, but mirrors off, shadows - planar, water normal, and 4xSSAA, 16AF. With vsync frames are avg ~30 in city areas and areas of high activity. Before I take the plunge in a new card, I think I'll see how the i7 920 OC system performs with the single ATI 5870. arjuna Posted May 19, 2010 Author Posted May 19, 2010 (edited) I've concluded that crossfire doesn't work with FC2 (In that there is not improvement over a single card). So I've overclocked my poor old 4850 and waiting till the 5850 becomes cheaper. Also setting water to 1 didn't seem to affect the framerate, I had it on 2 before.
