Grimes Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 This is more of a warning/advisory post, but I just had the weirdest thing happen. Since the "best way" to install the 1.02 patch for Black Shark was to work off of a fresh 1.0 install of the game, I reinstalled it. I did some quick tests to make sure my old profile still worked. Outside of a few control and graphics tweaks, I didn't touch the options. Fast forward a week. After flying in the 3Sqn server testing our missions to make sure the FARPS worked and how well the Ka-50 handles the target areas. I realized that some of the FARPS lacked the capabilities they ought to have, such as changing payloads and such. So I decide to fix and test locally using Black Shark. Sweetness everything is fixed now, saved and uploaded to the server. So tonight I login to do some Ka-50 flying. All of a sudden it feels really easy to fly. I figured that was because I gave my X52 a good cleaning earlier in the day. Then I get to the target area, some russian chick is now informing me when my wingman (Kuky in a 25t) is firing missiles. In fact, he even recieved the same messages whenever I or a sam fired. Long story short. I forgot to adjust my settings in DCS to be "full simulation." As a result some of the settings saved in DCS translated and overwrote the LockOn settings. So if you EVER do cross game mission building, make sure the settings are what you want in BOTH games. Otherwise it will screw things up. :megalol: The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. G3 Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 Grimes i did the exact same thing i thought i was the shark master :D in another example of cross editing between pc's or between bs and fc2 lets say you make a mission callled x1 created on dcs bs with "scenes set to low" in options.lua so then you open this mission x1 on another dcs bs machine or fc2 machine that has "scenes set to high", you edit and save mission x1 if i understand it correctly the mission x1 will now have the scenes set to high so this is another example where you have to check your settings. searched previously without any joy but i for one, would really like to see a full explanation of what all the settings in the options.lua do and which ones are enforced by the server in multiplayer.
