Bruce_D Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 Hi, I have a problem that I can`t resolve. I made a few missions with triggers and goals without problems. But when I try to put them together in a campaign and try to play it, I always have the same problem: When I finish the first stage nothing happens, It`s like I haven`t played the Stage 1 in the campaign and nothing changes on my logbook. Does anybody have the same problem? Can anybody give me a tip? Thanks for the help
nomdeplume Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 How did you set up the campaign? Did you assign each mission to a new stage? Did you ensure each mission assigns a score > 50 points for the player so they proceed to the next stage? Did you set the score range for each mission so they'll be selected?
Bruce_D Posted June 19, 2010 Author Posted June 19, 2010 Hi, "Did you assign each mission to a new stage?" Yes, 1 mission for each stage "Did you ensure each mission assigns a score > 50 points for the player so they proceed to the next stage?" Yes "Did you set the score range for each mission so they'll be selected?" How can I do That? I always finish the first mission with 100% of sucess (I made the first mission just for testing, I`ll change it to be more dificult) Tks for the help
nomdeplume Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 "Did you set the score range for each mission so they'll be selected?" How can I do That? I always finish the first mission with 100% of success If you didn't do it yourself, then the default is for a range of 0 .. 100 for every mission. To check, in the campaign editor select the stage in the left hand side, and in the right-hand side you'll see the missions. The columns are "#", "Name" and "Range". The range field will have numbers "0 .. 100" or similar. If you click on either number you can enter a new value. What I think your problem might be is simply the slightly strange way the campaign is presented. After you finish the first mission in the campaign and you're at the "debriefing" / event log screen, you need to select Back, and then "re-enter" the campaign for it to select a new mission. Also be aware that when you add a mission to the campaign, the game copies it into the campaign directory. If you then edit your original mission in another location, the changes won't be reflected in the campaign version of the mission.
Bruce_D Posted June 19, 2010 Author Posted June 19, 2010 Hi my friend, "If you didn't do it yourself, then the default is for a range of 0 .. 100 for every mission..." I`ll try that "What I think your problem might be is simply the slightly strange way the campaign is presented..." That is the problem. When I select back the campaign it shows as inative and when I re-enter the campaign It start the stage 1 again "Also be aware that when you add a mission to the campaign, the game copies it into the campaign directory..." Yeah, I saw that, I`m sure thats not causing the problem. I`ll try your first tip. Tks for the help
nomdeplume Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 Your test missions do have a player-controlled aircraft in them, yes? I did some tests and it always registered my campaign as being active when the mission had a player-controlled aircraft. My initial test mission I left it set as AI and it never made the campaign active.
Bruce_D Posted June 19, 2010 Author Posted June 19, 2010 Yes, it has player-controlled aircraft . I have discoverd something: On the second mission I forgot to put one country on the red coalition. I'll try to change this. Tks
nomdeplume Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 Also it seems starting a new campaign is a bit different. I have no idea what the game is actually looking for, but in my test with just me starting at parking, if I simply quit then the campaign doesn't become active. If I take off and land again, the campaign does become active. After that, I can reset the campaign so it goes back to inactive, and then if I start it and immediately quit the mission it'll be recognised. So I think there's any extra 'something' needed by the game before it will activate the campaign for the first time. Not sure what though - player take-off? Player landing? Player moving their aircraft?
Bruce_D Posted June 20, 2010 Author Posted June 20, 2010 Problem resolved. I bealive it was the coalition problem. Tks for the help
