zakobi Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 Was wondering, if that war on terror (WoT) hadn't started, how likely would we have seen the Charlie warthog? For the A-stan/Iraq encounters the it's pretty much perfect, but not so much on a modern battlefield. Also seen multiple text talking about retirement of the A-10A (Before C), amongst that, the F-35 should replace it. What's your thoughts?
sobek Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 but not so much on a modern battlefield. How so? In any case, much more than the Ka-50. Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!
EtherealN Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 The A10 is very good on the modern battlefield - just like most CAS aircraft it prefers if it's fighter friends establish superiority first. Once superiority is achieved it is still very very good - and the C-model even more so.
