Getting Patch 1.02 Error

O.K., I'm getting the exact same error as socal500. I've been playing for a couple of weeks now with patch 1.02 no problem at all, and now i am getting the same error. It just started last night. It appears when I start the game, and when I press O.K. it goes to a windowed Gui. I can then start a game no problem, but it won't allow me to access the options. I get a different error message when I access the options, and when I press ok, it returns me to the opening screen.

 

I am using windows 7 64 bit

 

I also tried looking for the appdata virtualstore files but I don't have them. Any help would be appreciated.

If you:

- Tried saving your stick configuration to blackshark.lua? that might have broken the file. Reinstall.

- modified some of th eother files using notead, that might break the files. You need to use Notepadd++ to make changes and not break files.

- installed any mods lately. uninstall them.

 

Next steps:

It's quite easy just to reinstall the game, and it shold fix your problems.

I already tried reinstalling it twice. I still get the error message. The only mod that I tried installing was the G940 Led mod, but that was a week ago when I installed that, and it never affected me then. Is there anything else that might be the problem. I never did anything else to cause this error other than playing the game. I finished playing a Multiplayer game and tried to get into the singleplayer gui and the message all of a sudden appeared.

I just remembered, I think the game crashed before this happened. I can't remember how soon before the error message, that this happened, but I do remember that the game crashed.

It could be that your options that are saved, are corrupt. If you reinstall to "C:\Program Files" every time it will use the same corrupt files every time.

See the troubleshooting post #1, about Virtualstore - there your settings will be.

 

If you reinstall outside C:\Program Files - the settings should be stored in your installation as long as you have Admin access.

I found an older post on the same subject, and tried turning off the UAC. That seemed to get rid of the problem. All error messages were gone. When I turned UAC back on, all the error messages came back. I don't like to keep my UAC off.

Try reinstalling the game in a folder other than Program Files, ie C:\Games\DCS Black shark.

Well I reinstalled to a different folder and that seemed to do the trick. Thanks for the help
