Hi mates I have a question that requires a basic answer. :)

I installed DCS: Black Shark and I turned off my LAN card prior to installing DCS: Black Shark. I keep my computer offline, that's why I disable it. I then turned it on to download some updates for X-Plane 9 and left the LAN NIC card enabled.

I went to run Black Shark and it said my configuration had drastically changed so I needed to reactivate. Nothing else had changed in the computer. I finally figured out the problem and I was off and flying. :pilotfly:

My question is and I guess this is more Starforce related than ED but an explanation would be appreciated so at least we know for the future.

What is it about the LAN NIC card that would deactivate Black Shark? I would have thought a new motherboard, CPU etc but a LAN NIC card?

Anyway thanks ED :)

NIC especially its MAC is a common identifier to bind to. Nothing special here. StarForce does bind to it too.

If StarForce asks for activation after changing/enabling NIC, it's an issue. FC2 serial numbers have medium weight of binding to hardware thereafter StarForce should allow to change NIC without a notice. Please consider contacting directly their support at support@star-force.com
