candas622 Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 (edited) Hey, I've recently baught blk shark off steam and it worked for 8/9 hours then i had to reinstall my pc, having completed the reinstall i've not been able to run blk shark at all as it complains about not being able to find the "edterrain.dll" module, Well its there and I have a screenshot of the file being there... Having contacted steam they wern't much use, all they did was say check the files integrity by running their validation check protocol. Having done that it still resulted in the same sapposadly missing DLL file. Can anyone shed some light on this as its driving me nuts, I want to play this game. Thankyou in advance for any answers u may come up with Candas622 Edited July 28, 2010 by candas622 edited for abrubt ending :D
Nate--IRL-- Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 (edited) Just a few guesses, but first a question.... You say you had to reinstall your PC, do you mean a fresh new install of windows? Where is your steam install on your hard drive? If Steam is in C:\Program files you may have to run BS as an Administrator. Is it possible to run programs as Administrator in steam? If it is try doing that. Also try moving steam to another folder out of C:\Program files like C:\Steam if possible. candas622 Posted July 28, 2010 Author Posted July 28, 2010 @ Nate--IRL-- Its in C:prog files yes, and it was a fresh install yes, i'll try as admin, then try installing else where.... see what happens, shall report bk when completed.. Thankyou. :D fly safe
candas622 Posted July 29, 2010 Author Posted July 29, 2010 well after installing steam to a diff location outside of C and installing DCS again, it still doesn't work... :S
Nate--IRL-- Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 Hmm, thats a strange one. Get steam to Verify Game cache just to check if it's a corrupt download. Also, the obvious things but... check you have DirectX & Video card drivers correctly installed. Run Dxdiag and post up the output.
