Freezes whole PC

Have FC2 with the patch, on Windows XP.

 

Im flying the F15 campaign, mission 2 when escorting the C17 and as we spiral out of the clouds the whole thing freezes, I cant ALT-TAB or anything, the only thing i can do is turn the PC off and on.

 

Any ideas?

The only freeze I get in the game is when changing nav modes, which only happens occasionally and usually when near an airbase. Does the freeze happen without any input from you?

 

Tried various graphic settings? Maybe load the mission in the editor and save it as a new name, and try changing the weather settings - maybe the clouds are causing problems?

its stopped itself! Dont know why but all is OK now.
