OK first off I'm loving this sim (FC2).

When I first installed I was using a Thrustmaster Hotas X as my brother had "borrowed" my X52. I have now got my X52 back and have installed the latest drivers and SST software (Win7 64).

The problem I have is that when the X52's buttons are programmed in game all is good and works as it should, but if I attempt to create a profile and run with that I often get buttons not working and sometimes my keyboard locking up and have to Ctrl-Alt-Del out of the game.

I know I could run with just setting up the X52 from within the game, but want to use a profile so I can use the different Modes for Nav, A-G and A-A. I am not new to programming the X52 have set it up using modes for FSX and Falcon 4.0 in the past.

I have just tested the stick by running a newly programmed 3 mode profile on FSX and all is well, but on FC2 I cannot get it to work, or if it does work the stick becomes unresponsive after a few minutes. I have uninstalled FC2 and the Saitek software and reinstalled and the problem still persists.

Another problem I have is now when I load the game I get to the main screen and after selecting a mission it tells me that FC2 needs activating, when I click I already have a key it loads up fine, but it is annoying that this happens every time. I am going to deactivate and reactivate to see if that cure the problem.

If anyone has any thought on the X52 profile problem it would be appreciated.

*EDIT* just deactivated then reactivated FC2 and still get an activation message after selecting a mission. Never had this problem before I installed the X52 pro software.

UPDATE

I have solved the problem, in one of my bands settings I had programmed a keystroke instead of a macro so when activated it was sending a repeated keystroke thus messing up the complete profile.

Probably not a good idea to set up the profile at 3am. Now I am fully awake I found the problem.

Still having the strange activation problem although now it happens only now and again.
